"I have recently joined the governing board of a school in my local community. I wanted to do something to contribute and help bring about positive change.

"I find being a school governor is rewarding because you make a real difference to children’s futures, shape a school’s ethos and strategic direction. It is a chance to use my professional experience and skills, and I feel that I am giving back to my community.
