Assistant General Manager, Brinnington Life Leisure

I joined Brinnington Park in 2018, when the facility first opened, as a receptionist. I love Brinnington and I love working in the community I also live in. I'm proud to be a part of improving the health and lives of all who live in my community, and welcoming familiar faces into the hub.

My role is varied from day to day. I manage the day to day operations of the facility, from health and safety and compliance, to managing the team, organising rotas, liaising with potential facility rentals, planning open days and community events, my favourite being our Christmas open day.

I work with our active communities team and local partners for new ideas, so we can continue to improve the wellbeing and health of those who live in the area.

We have activities including Mini Movers for aged 0 to preschool, a craft club for juniors, football and boxing for teens, coffee mornings and confidence walks for our more senior visitors. We also offer our Life Leisure gym, swim and studio memberships and kids and teens memberships.

We have several organisations who now use Brinnington Park hub. Just a few are AGE UK Stockport, Banter and Brews, Pulmonary Care, Viaduct, drug and alcohol services and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support. We even host a bingo coffee morning and when the darker nights draw in, an Over 60s Youth Club.

We are so much more than just a gym, there is something for everyone at the hub.
