  • support student retention

What type(s) of information do we use?

Information we share in order to support your education and training:

  • personal information (ie name, address, DOB and contact details of you/parent/guardian/carer
  • characteristics (such as gender, language, nationality and free school meal eligibility)
  • unique learner and pupil numbers ULN/UPN
  • attendance information
  • health including special educational needs and disabilities (special category data)

What is the legal basis for using your information?

UK GDPR Article 6(1)(e) for the performance of a public interest task which has a clear basis in law or in the exercise of official authority. This is detailed in legislation including:

  • Children and Families Act 2014
  • Children’s Act 2004
  • Education Act 1996
  • Education and Skills Act 2008

We process special category personal data where this is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, in accordance with Article 9(2)(g) of the UK GDPR.

This includes processing where it is necessary to:

  • carry out our statutory functions
  • promote equality of opportunity or treatment
  • provide support to individuals with a disability or medical condition
  • safeguard children and individuals who may be at risk

If upon selecting your next destination, there are categories of data you would prefer to withhold, please contact your headteacher in writing. We will then advise if we must pass the data on or not.
