Brinnington has been awarded £20 million of long‑term investment through the national Pride in Place programme; a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to transform the neighbourhood, champion local strengths and make sure decisions are led by residents rather than made for them.
Applications are now open to join the Brinnington Pride in Place Board.
This is an opportunity for people who live or work in Brinnington to help shape local priorities, influence decisions and support improvements in the area.
What the board will do
The board will bring together a diverse group of people to:
- represent and listen to local communities
- work with partners to shape priorities
- support open and transparent decision making
- champion positive change in Brinnington
We're looking for people with a range of experiences, perspectives and backgrounds.
Who can apply?
You can apply if you:
- live in Brinnington and/or
- work in Brinnington
You do not need previous board experience. We welcome applications from people with both lived experience and professional backgrounds.
Board members will be expected to attend regular meetings, and you'll be asked to contribute between meetings.

The board may be supported by advisory groups focused on key themes, helping to involve a wider range of voices from across the community. We’ll share more details on this page soon.
