7. Wellbeing and independence through community transport
Reliable, accessible, affordable and flexible transport can make a positive contribution to people’s independence, especially as they age, become less mobile or acquire a physical or sensory disability.
The Community Transport Service will provide journeys for adults who are unable to use public transport to places such as the hairdressers and care homes, or to visit family, attend social events, rehabilitative exercise, and shopping.
