Preparing our plan

To prepare a new plan the council must follow The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

The regulations and other guidance set out the stages that the council has to go through:

Planning - Local Plan Path, we are here

We are required to publish our timetable for preparing the plan in a document called the local development scheme. The local development scheme might be changed as we move through the stages. Sign up for email alerts to keep up to date.

You can find the evidence we use to inform the Local Plan on our supporting evidence pages.

Until the new Local Plan is adopted planning applications will continue to be decided on using our current policies. You can find more information on our current planning policies webpages.
