Planning performance agreements for developers and businesses

Central Government encourages planning performance agreements (PPA's) for large or complex planning proposals. They're voluntary agreements between applicants and local planning authorities which helps to:

  • bring together developers, the Local Planning Authority and key stakeholders to work in partnership throughout the planning process
  • make sure complex proposals progress through the process to mutually agreed timescales
  • make sure appropriate resources and expertise are provided to advise on complex proposals
  • provide greater opportunity for dialogue through the planning process and help deliver high quality development

If you're interested in progressing a PPA, you can email planning.dc@stockport.gov.uk with your requirements. There will be a fee for this and it will be calculated on a cost recovery basis. It will be dependent on the scale and complexity of the proposal and the resources that are required.
