Exhaust fumes

The Council’s fleet of vehicles are gradually being replaced with vehicles that emit less harmful exhaust fumes.

There are currently:

  • 119 vehicles converted to run on Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG). A large proportion of the conversion cost was provided by a grant from the Energy Saving Trust
  • 5 Electric scooters which are used by staff for short journeys within the Borough
  • 18 Large Goods Vehicles have had their exhaust silencers converted to Continuously Regenerating Particulate Traps (CRT’s). A large part of the funding was provided by a grant from the Energy Saving Trust
