Reopening of Stockport museums
Stockport museums began a phased reopening in August 2020. Bramall Hall and Stockport Air Raid Shelters are open.
On Thursday 22 October, Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery will re-open to the public.
You must book tickets in advance so that we can manage our visitor numbers and follow government guidance on social distancing. Find information about how to book tickets and the new measures that are in place to keep you safe during your visit on our museums web page.
Planning your visit
Our guided tours run every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.
Discover Bramall Hall with one of our expert guides. You'll gain a wonderful insight into this magnificent historic house. The house has witnessed seven centuries of colourful history from early medieval beginnings to present day.
All ages are welcome and there's no need to book. Just drop in, however there are limited places are available on a first come first served basis.
Price: £2 plus standard admission
Our new group tours will take in all aspects of the restored Hall including:
- The Great Hall
- Banqueting Room
- Servants Quarters
- Victorian Kitchen
During the group tours, you'll learn about social history and the families who made Bramall Hall what it is today:
- the Masseys
- the De Bromales
- the Davenports
- the Nevills
We'll discuss the stunning architectural design of the building, including the wattle and daub feature and other fascinating aspects.
