Our vision
Our vision for Stockport in 2026 is to be a place where autistic individuals are valued and understood. We will have delivered on the following promises:
we will have improved relationships with our autistic community and communicate messages clearly
we will have improved our support offer for autistic adults, children and their families and ensure that support is put in place from identification of need, regardless of a diagnosis
we will have a better understanding of the needs our autistic adults over the age of 30 to allow us to provide greater support
we will have improved our understanding of how autism presents in girls and women to prevent them from continuing to be misdiagnosed or undiagnosed
we will have better trained staff implementing reasonable adjustments enabling greater access to healthcare services for our autistic community
we will have promoted the use of neuro-affirmative, strength-based language
