Our priorities
We're focusing on the requirements of our 3 highest levels of need. These are:
- autism and neurodiversity
- social, emotional and mental health
- speech, language and communication
We've identified these as the 3 highest levels of needs through our research into the needs of our children and young people.
Cross cutting themes
We'll also be focusing on 2 cross cutting themes which apply to all education, health and care services for SEND.
Our cross cutting themes are:
- timelines of assessment and diagnosis, and making sure those that are waiting are ‘waiting well’. We’ll support this with clear communication
- developing and promoting our early help ambition of ‘Success at SEN Support’ from the early years to leaving education. This will help us to manage the needs of children and young people at the earliest point. It will also improve the sustainability of education, health and care services
Our partnerships
To help us deliver on our priorities, we've formed 4 strategic partnerships. Each of these are sub-groups to the SEND Board.
Our 4 strategic partnerships are:
- co-production, communication and engagement
- joint commissioning and integrated working
- quality, performance and measuring impact
- workforce development and support for carers
In addition, there are priorities delivered by other Stockport partnerships, all of which will help us to improve SEND outcomes.
