Other ways to pay

There are many ways to pay for the council services that you receive. If you have received an invoice from Stockport council requesting payment, you can do this in a number of ways.

24 hour Telephone Payments

Payments can now be made over the telephone by debit/credit card which is available 24 hours a day. Please call 0161 474 4050.

You will need your invoice reference or account number and your debit/credit card.

Paying online through your bank

The Council's bank details for receiving payment are:
Barclays Bank Plc, Sort Code 20-82-13, Account Number 10840181

Please use your invoice reference or account number as the Payee reference.

Pay at a Post Office

Take your bill with you and use the barcode on the front to make payments by cash (or debit /credit card if the outlet accepts these). You should allow up to 5 working days to reach your account.

By Post

Pay by cheque through the post. Cheques should be made payable to Stockport Council and sent to:

Exchequer Services – Payments
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council
Town Hall

Write your name, address and account number on the back of the cheque. Cheques must not be post-dated. Please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope if you want a receipt.
