If you've received an invoice from us requesting payment, you can pay this in a number of ways.
By telephone
You can pay over the telephone by debit and credit card. This is an automated service available 24 hours a day. Please call 0300 456 0487.
You'll need:
- the amount you want to pay
- your invoice reference or account number
- your debit or credit card details
Through your bank
Make your payment to Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. You must only quote your invoice number as the payment reference. If you do not quote your payment reference correctly then your payment may take longer to reach your account which may result in a reminder letter being sent to you.

You should allow up to 5 working days for the payment to reach us.
At a Post Office or PayPoint outlet
Take your invoice with you and use the barcode on the front to make your payment by cash or by debit card, if the outlet accepts them. Please keep the payment receipt with your reference on it, as well as any till receipt as they're proof of your payment. It can take up to 5 working days for us to receive your payment.
By Post
Pay by cheque through the post. Cheques should be made payable to Stockport Council and sent to:

Write your name, address and account number on the back of the cheque. Cheques must not be post-dated. If you'd like to receive a receipt enclose a stamped self addressed envelope.
