Bramhall South & Woodford Ward

Pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act, 1972

Notice is hereby given:

  1. That a vacancy exists in the office of Councillor for the Bramhall South & Woodford ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, due to the resignation of Councillor Ian Powney
  2. The vacancy is for an unexpired term of office until 6th May 2027
  3. Notice in writing of a request for an election to fill the vacancy may be given to me by two electors for the local government area, and should be delivered to the Returning Officer, Room 132, Town Hall, Edward Street, Stockport, SK1 3XE
  4. Upon receipt of two valid requests, a by-election will be held to fill the vacancy within 35 days (so computed in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972)
