The Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will pass through Stockport in 2027, creating a boost for the town and a real opportunity for local young people to get ready for work. A new Readiness to Work programme linked to the event will support 18 to 25 year olds with hands on experience, training and mentoring to help them move into jobs or further education.
The programme will see 300 young volunteers across the country trained in skills such as CV writing, interviews, managing money and building confidence, alongside three months of mentoring from professionals. It is designed to turn volunteering into practical skills that can be used in future job applications.

It is not just about hosting a world class event, it is about making sure local residents benefit from it too.
