Vote for Your Local Pantry

The Council is urging Stockport residents to get behind the Your Local Pantry’s project ‘Pantry Pedal Power’.

‘Pantry Pedal Power’, has been shortlisted for this year’s People’s Project funding run by The Big Lottery Fund in conjunction with ITV.

The People’s Projects is open to a public vote, with the three projects with the most votes receiving up to £50,000 in funding.

If the 'Pantry Pedal Power' project wins, the money will be used to deliver groceries to people who can’t get out of the house to visit a Pantry, or find it difficult to carry home heavy shopping due to disabilities or poor health.

Follow the link below and click on ‘select this project’ then fill in your details to vote. Voting closes at 12 noon on Monday 3 April. Don’t forget to confirm your vote by email or it won’t count!

Councillor Sheila Bailey, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Communities and Housing, said: “I’d like to congratulate Your Local Pantry for being shortlisted for this year’s The People’s Projects. Your Local Pantry and its volunteers work very hard to help local residents save money on their food bills, whilst offering training opportunities. This is a fantastic project and I’d encourage all residents to vote so they can get this much needed funding.”
