Stockport Council, in collaboration with Life Leisure, is thrilled to announce the launch of its innovative digital communications campaign, ‘Up for The Task’

'Up for The Task' a New Family Challenge Launched at Family Hub

This campaign aims to provide families in Brinnington with enjoyable and engaging ways for them to get active and creative in their local area.

Partnering with the local community hub Brinnington Park Leisure Complex and funded by GM Moving, the campaign kicked off with kids’ goody bags and activities such as curling, activity steppingstones and cornhole at Westmorland Primary School, a family hub. There was a real buzz about the event as parents and children eagerly got involved and enjoyed themselves.

The ‘Up for The Task’ Brinnington campaign invites families to embrace exciting challenges that foster teamwork, imagination, and wellbeing. Whether it’s a fun art project, a fitness challenge, or a shared adventure, families are encouraged to participate and document their experiences and post their entries on the Brinnington Park Leisure Complex Facebook page.

The first task of six will be announced this week on Facebook, with a new task revealed every two weeks. Families are invited to join in with as many tasks as they like. Prizes will be awarded for the best entry for each task including a family Life Leisure gym pass, a family activity pack and Swingball set, a voucher for a family fun cinema experience at the Light Cinema, £100 JD vouchers and a £100 Tesco voucher. To enter, simply share evidence of your task on Facebook using the hashtag #upforthetask.

Councillor Frankie Singleton, Cabinet Member for Communities, Culture & Sport, said: “We believe that families are at the heart of a community. The ‘Up for The Task’ challenges provide a wonderful opportunity for families to bond, create memories, and learn together for free at home or in their local area. ‘Up for the Task’ also aligns perfectly with our commitment to community wellbeing.”

Ross McGuigan, Active Communities Manager at Life Leisure, said “Physical activity is essential for families, and ‘Up for The Task’ encourages families to be active in a fun and meaningful way. Whether you’re a fan of getting out and about, love solving puzzles, or enjoy getting creative, there’s something for everyone. So, we want you to gather your family and strive for those bragging rights, to be Brinnington’s most ‘winningest’ family.”
