Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift is coming to Stockport in 2027!

The women's peloton 2025

Last updated: 22 January 2026

This is a landmark moment for our community. The Tour is the largest free-to-watch sporting spectacle in the world, attracting millions of viewers globally—and Stockport will be a major part of the action.

The UK stages will begin in Leeds and cross the Pennines to Manchester, where stage 1 will end, and stage 2 will begin heading through Stockport and then climb into the Peak District before finishing in Sheffield, with a showpiece finale in London.

To mark the announcement, all 10 host venues lit up the skies with a yellow beam in a nationwide “Tour de Skies” celebration—signalling the countdown to an event that will showcase Britain on the world stage.

But this isn’t just about cycling. Organisers have unveiled Joy, a social impact programme designed to tackle inactivity, improve mental wellbeing, and create opportunities for young people. Thousands of volunteer roles will also be available—from event operations to community engagement—giving residents the chance to be part of history.

Councillor Mark Roberts, Leader of Stockport Council
