Stop Smoking Day - Stockport Council urges smoking residents to access free support

On 8th March - No Smoking Day Stockport Council is reminding the borough’s 30,000 plus smokers of the free local support available to help them quit.

Councillor Tom McGee, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Health, said:

“If you are a smoker, quitting is the single best thing you can do for your health and wealth. With the cost of smoking rising every year there is never a better time to stop smoking. If you are thinking of quitting I would urge you to access the support available as you are much more likely to be successful with expert support than going it alone.”
