Stockport Local Fund opens for applications on Monday
Don't miss out on the opportunity to apply for support for your great community idea.
Make sure you don’t miss out on the opportunity to apply to Stockport Local Fund when it opens again on Monday 10th December for just 4 weeks. This new community fund is already supporting great ideas for local activities and projects across Stockport and making a difference to your neighbourhoods.
Anyone can apply to the fund - individuals, friends, groups or organisations - and you can apply for any amount from £200 up to £10,000 per project, as long as your idea meets our requirements and priorities. Take a look at our web-page to find out what type of projects we're looking for. You'll also find out where to get advice and support to develop your idea, there’s plenty of inspiration from wonderful local projects that are already happening across Stockport and an online directory to connect you with local groups you may wish to join.
Councillor Elise Wilson, Cabinet Member for Reform and Governance at Stockport Council said: “Stockport has passionate communities where many people have great ideas for projects that will benefit their local neighbourhood. Ideas that help reduce loneliness, for example, or improve health and wellbeing, or build relationships that bring different people together. It’s these kind of ideas and activities that we would like to invest in to help make our neighbourhoods even better places to live in.”
In order to receive funding, ideas will need to meet the council’s requirements and will be scored against the agreed priorities. They must also be sustainable once support from Stockport Local Fund has ended.
Councillor Wilson continues: “Whether you’re on your own or have come together with friends or neighbours with a great idea, there are many ways to make your mark in your local community. Why not get in touch with other local groups or organisations and see how you can get connected, whether that’s as a volunteer, or to get their support applying or to apply together to the fund.”
Applications for the first round of funding must be made between Monday 10th December and Sunday 6th January 2019. The online application process is quick and easy. You can even submit it on your mobile phone!
