Stockport Local Fund - further grants available for communities
Applications open soon. Free online workshop to find out more and get help applying.
As part of the ongoing One Stockport campaign, Stockport Council is opening Stockport Local Fund, making grants of up to £10,000 available for local community activities and projects. We are encouraging applications to fund new ideas and activities that will support our communities in these unprecedented times, from activities that build relationships and increase connections for people experiencing social isolation and loneliness, to supporting digital inclusion and those in financial need. We are also inviting applications for funding to continue projects that are already supporting those affected by the pandemic.
Councillor Amanda Peers, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Neighbourhoods said: “The pandemic has shown the tremendous force of Stockport communities, as people came together to support each other. We're doing all we can to support this effort and I'm delighted to announce that further grants are now available from Stockport Local Fund.
“This funding will make a big difference and I'm looking forward to seeing how this investment will benefit local people, by establishing new ideas and building on the community work that's already happening. We are particularly looking for projects that build connections and friendships for people who are self-isolating, vulnerable or lonely. This could provide a vital lifeline for those at risk of becoming isolated, not only during this difficult time but also in the longer term, building and maintaining social and support networks where they don’t naturally exist.”
We’re running a virtual workshop on Tuesday 3rd November where you can find out more about how and when to apply, where to get advice and support and what type of projects we're looking for. Book your free place.
Stockport Local Fund will open on Monday 16th November. Find out more and apply on our web pages.
