Stockport Council to take part in #OurDay2018
From new digital services to road safety, education to health, Stockport Council will be putting faces to some of its services on Tuesday 20th November.
Staff will be taking part in a tweetathon and they will be among thousands nationwide to tweet using the hashtag #OurDay, to give residents an insight into the hundreds of jobs councils do every day, from collecting rubbish and fixing roads, to taking care of vulnerable people.
It means Stockport Council’s twitter feed will be filled with personal experiences about working for the Council for the third year running.
Cllr Elise Wilson, Cabinet member for Reform & Governance, said: “Last year’s #OurDay was a great success and this year we are hoping to reach even more people.
“With a personal focus on what it’s like working for the people of Stockport, I hope we can engage with as many people across the borough as possible.
“So if you’re a Twitter user, please do get involved in the day by retweeting and showing your support for some of our outstanding services.”
