Stockport Council to combat local food waste with 2025’s Two+Two winners

Creative students from across the North have taken part in an event to create marketing campaigns for Stockport Council in front of a judging panel of industry experts.

Stockport Council will be working with the winner of this year’s Two+Two event, backed by Stockport-based firm Creative Resource, which took place on March 20, to combat local food waste with a campaign aimed at educating residents about the impact of wasted food.

This year’s event featured more than 200 students from across the North coming together at Stockport Exchange with mentors from the creative industry to compete for 1st place and the opportunity to work with Stockport Council and Stockport based APS Group.

Students Aimee Speed, Lucy Vaughn and Chris Aschmann were selected by the panel of judges for their idea ‘Nowt Wrong with It’, which uses humour to get Stopfordians thinking about food waste and its environmental impact.

Cllr Mark Roberts, deputy leader at Stockport Council, said: “I’d like to congratulate the winners of this year’s Two+Two event and we look forward to working with the team to bring their idea to life.

“This event allows us to combat the issue of food waste on a local level, increase food security within Stockport and reduce our carbon footprint.

“Promoting young creative minds from the North is integral to keeping talent in the North, and events such as these allow this to happen.”

‘Nowt Wrong with It’ will be built upon and developed into a deliverable campaign that the students will pitch to the council. This could see it launched at our CAN Summit and rolled out across Stockport.
