Stockport Council’s Blue Badge amnesty

From the 20th March 2017 to the 31st March 2017 anyone in the possession of an expired, stolen or forged blue badge will be given the opportunity to hand them into the Council.

Stockport Council is giving people the opportunity to hand in any blue badges they should not be using before full enforcement action commences on the 1st April 2017.

Councillor Sheila Bailey, Executive Member for Communities and Housing: “We are giving people the chance to hand in any blue badges that are stolen, expired or forged. If you are found using one during this amnesty time or any other time, you are open to prosecution. I would urge anyone who has a badge they shouldn’t be using, to hand it in.

“Our officers will be out from the 1st April 2017 seeking anyone who is using a badge illegally”.

We would like to stress that anyone found using an expired, stolen or forged blue badge during this amnesty period will be open to prosecution under current legislation.

All badges need to be sent to Counter Fraud, Internal Audit Team, 2nd Flood, Stopford House, SK1 3XE.

Any information regarding the misuse of blue badges will be treated in the strictest confidence. Please contact us via email:
