Stockport Council launches new finance partnership
Stockport Council has launched a new partnership to help businesses start up, grow and thrive.
Stockport Business Finance Scheme is a new partnership between Stockport Council and Business Finance Solutions, offering a range of finance options to help businesses of all sizes grow and develop.
Loans are available from £500 to help individuals start up, through to larger loans of up to £100,000 for existing companies which are keen to either diversify or expand into new markets.
The new partnership was announced by Cllr Kate Butler, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, at Stockport Business & Innovation Centre on the 19th January at a joint event with the Business Growth Hub.
As part of the scheme appropriate start-up, growth and mentoring support will also be provided to those securing funding. This will complement the services provided by the Business Growth Hub who work closely with Stockport Council to ensure ambitious businesses receive the support they need to help them grow their bottom line, boost their profile, and create new business growth.

“This enables ambitious, hardworking budding entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into reality, employ people and boost communities – all factors that are critical to the future of our local economy.”
A number of Stockport-based businesses have already secured funding from Business Finance Solutions, including MyBuzz Technologies and Where the Light Gets In. It’s hoped through Stockport Business Finance Scheme, further companies in the town will be supported to help them reach their true potential.
