Stockport Children’s Home celebrates ‘Good’ Ofsted rating
A Stockport Council-run children's home has been rated "Good" by the Government's Ofsted inspectors following inspections earlier in the year.
Inspectors have found that the Children's Home was 'Good' across the board and particularly commented on the wellbeing of the children living there.
The report says children are "provided with nurturing care and enabled to become independent." It adds that health and wellbeing needs are met, and children are treated with "acceptance and understanding", with their "identities well-supported".
Councillor Wendy Meikle, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, commented: "This is excellent and welcome news. I want to thank our hard-working colleagues who continue to put children and young people at the heart of what we do.
"We are ambitious for all of our children and young people, and strive for equality of opportunity for all regardless of background and community. Safe and homely spaces to live like this Home offer our children the very best start in life, and ensure they are supported to reach their potential."
