Stockport Celebrates LGBT History Month

Stockport’s Library service has joined with People Like Us Stockport (PLUS) social group to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month in the borough.

The month celebrates the lives and achievements of the world’s LGBT community and the Council’s Central Library is hosting a number of free events celebrating the history of Stockport’s LGBT community.

Councillor David Sedgwick, LGBT+ champion for Stockport Council, said: “LGBT history month is a very important time in the LGBT calendar and I am delighted that our library service have collaborated with the LGBT community in putting on a number of free events and book display in our Central Library.”
