Stockport celebrates Armed Forces Week

This year, Stockport will be celebrating Armed Forces Week with activities and events to celebrate and show support for the Armed Forces community.

We are also recognising the sacrifices our Armed Forces personnel often make on behalf of their country.

The week, which runs from 20 - 26 June, includes social events, summer parties and opportunities for the armed forces community to come together. All events have been organised by local groups and organisations and are supported by Stockport Council. Take a look below at the events taking place:

• Brew, Scran & Banter event with Disability Stockport - Thursday 23 June 2022 12pm – 4pm
• Morning at the Produce Hall – Friday 24 June 2022 10am – 12pm
• Lunchtime barbecue with Stockport Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club and the Veteran Food Company - Saturday 25 June 2022 11am – 2pm

• Mode Rehabilitation garden party - Sunday 26 June 2022 12:00 - 16:00

Stockport Council will also be flying the Armed Forces flag outside the Town Hall next week in recognition of all those who have serviced or continue to serve their country, their families and those we have lost through service. The Armed Forces flag will fly from Monday to Saturday, with the exception of Tuesday when the Union flag will fly for the birthday of HRH, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.
