Statement on the latest Care Quality Commission review
Cllr Tom McGee comments on the CQC review of how local health and social care systems work together in Stockport
Cllr Tom McGee, Chair of the Stockport Health and Wellbeing Board, says:
"We welcome the feedback from the CQC following their recent review of Stockport's health and social care provision. The CQC praised how health professionals work together in the Borough to achieve positive outcomes for the people of Stockport. The care and support for people living with dementia in the community was also commended.
“Whilst the review highlighted many positives, we recognise there is more to do. We are already addressing the areas for improvement and all partners involved accept that there is still a lot of work to be done. Recent changes in leadership across the wider health economy will drive the change that’s needed so the people of Stockport are given the right support when they need it.
“All partners across the health and social care system are committed to working together at pace to improve services and health outcomes for the people of Stockport.”
The report is available on the CQC website.
