Staff training at Stockport libraries means a temporary closure on two days in March

Due to staff training, all libraries will be closed the morning of Tuesday 8th and Tuesday 15th March.

Stockport Council apologises to all residents for the inconvenience caused.

We know that libraries are a key part of the community here in Stockport, and we want to help the people of Stockport be as flourishing and creative as they can be under the One Stockport Borough Plan. That’s why we’re taking these two essential training days.

Some libraries will reopen in the afternoon on Tuesday 8th and Tuesday 15th March.

These libraries are:

Tuesday 8th March

Libraries reopening at 3.30pm:

  • Cheadle
  • Heald Green
  • Heatons
  • Marple
  • Bridgehall
  • Bredbury
  • Brinnington
  • Edgeley
  • Great Moor
  • High Lane

Tuesday 15th March

Libraries reopening at 4.30pm:

  • Central
  • Cheadle
  • Heald Green
  • Heatons
  • Marple

Open+ services will not be available during this time.

While the libraries are closed, there are plenty of online services you can access for free remotely. This includes our Borrowbox service, which allows you to access thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks to read from home. There’s also our Pressreader service, which allows access to newspapers and magazines from across the globe, all from the comfort of your sofa!
