We are pleased to confirm that essential repairs at Adswood Young People’s Centre have now been completed.
Following the building’s closure on 9 January due to roof issues, the centre has been fully repaired, thoroughly cleaned and safety checked, and is safe to reopen and welcome families back.
The following Autisk services will restart at Adswood Young People’s Centre:
- Play Zone: the family drop-in will return to Adswood this Saturday 7 March.
- The specialist short breaks service will return to Adswood this weekend, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March.
- Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions planned for the Easter holidays will go ahead as usual at Adswood. The booking system will open on Tuesday 10 March. Eligible families will receive an email with their child’s unique voucher code and a link to the booking system.
- The No School and Teen Hangout groups will restart at Adswood on Friday 17 April.
Autisk is expected to remain based at Adswood Young People’s Centre as we collectively work to identify a suitable long-term solution.
We know that the disruption to services since January has been worrying and difficult for families, and we are very sorry for the impact this has had. We will continue to keep families informed as plans progress and as more Autisk services resume.
We are also very grateful to Adswood Primary School and Castle Hill High School for their support while repairs were taking place.
