Plan your street party for His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation today!
The government has announced that Monday 8 May 2023 will be an additional national Bank Holiday, as the UK marks the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
If you’re planning a celebration, why not get your application for a street party in early, and save yourself the stress further down the line?
Stockport Council wants to support all residents to mark this historic occasion. You can apply for a street party application on the council website – the form is quick and easy to use. Please note that you will have to provide any relevant documentation such as risk assessments.
The deadline for applications for coronation street parties over the additional Bank Holiday weekend is Friday 7 April 2023.
Councillor Helen Foster-Grime, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing at Stockport Council, commented: “The coronation of His Majesty King Charles III is an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate such a historic moment. At the council, we want to make it as simple as possible for you to apply for a street party licence, so that you can get on with the more fun elements of the planning! Make sure you get your application in early to allow time for it to be processed ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.”
The council is planning events and borough-wide celebrations to mark the coronation. Please keep an eye on the council newsroom and social media for more details coming soon!
