At a time when Stockport is being transformed as part of the UK's largest town centre regeneration, a new photography exhibition at Stockroom is turning the focus to the people and creative communities behind the change.
Opening on 29 January, Local/Connection is the second exhibition by photographers from the Amoeba Photography Network, who come together to explore place, collaboration and shared practice, offering a collective portrait of the connections that shape creative life in the region.
Running until 19 April, the exhibition is free to attend and invites the community to come together, celebrate creativity, and experience the collaborative energy that makes Stockport such a great place to live.
Stockroom is a vibrant new community space in the heart of Stockport, designed for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Since opening in May 2025, it’s quickly become a favourite spot for learning, creativity, and connecting, welcoming over 100,000 visitors each month. Whether you want to explore, get creative, read a book, or simply catch up with friends, Stockroom is a welcoming place in the heart of Stockport, where anyone can drop in to explore, get creative, or simply relax.
