Hollingdrake Place on Edward Street is now complete, with residents beginning to move in. The high-quality development, comprising one and two-bedroom apartments, offers 63 homes available for affordable rent, with the added benefit of 68 available for social rent.
The energy-efficient homes have secure cycle storage and EV charging to support sustainable travel, alongside landscaping and public realm improvements to boost biodiversity.
With support from Stockport Council, the development was delivered by housing association The Guinness Partnership with funding from Homes England and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Brownfield Housing Fund.
Hollingdrake Place – the second affordable scheme completed in the past two months - strengthens the council’s growing pipeline of affordable housing as the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) works to deliver 8,000 new homes in the town centre over the next 15 years.
Last month, housing association Great Places opened Platform - a £16.5m affordable housing scheme at Harrisson Court on King Street West - while construction began at Chestergate – a £41m development set to bring even more affordable and social housing to the heart of the town.

The Edward Street development is another step forward in our target of 8,000 new homes in Stockport town centre over the next 15 years.
We are proud to welcome 131 high-quality apartments that are not only affordable, but are vital homes for social rent in the heart of our town. The development strengthens our growing pipeline of affordable housing and reflects our promise to making Stockport a vibrant place that offers a true mix of homes, jobs, leisure, better healthcare and transport to benefit everyone across our borough.
