Money Maximising Roadshow to visit Woodley in June

Questions regarding energy, benefit, or debt management? Looking for job advice or health and wellbeing support? Need help to get online?

Stockport Council is hosting a Money Maximising Roadshow event, to help residents get financial support. With the cost-of-living crisis affecting people across Stockport, it is hoped that the timeliness of the Roadshow will help residents access the services they need to help their money go further, as well as being able to check that they receive all the financial support they are entitled to.

Residents are encouraged to attend the event, which will take place at Woodley Civic Hall on the 8th of June from 12 pm – 4 pm. Designed to help you save money, access the internet and offer support and guidance.

The event will bring together a whole abundance of helpful organisations under one roof, all with the aim of helping to support residents across the borough. There will also be a British Sign Language translator present, so those with hearing difficulties can benefit from the Money Maximising Roadshow.

Some of the organisations in attendance include Stockport Council, Citizens Advice Stockport, Age UK Stockport and Stockport Homes. Renewal North West will also be standing by to offer affordable white goods and Community Computers will be providing assistance through low-cost computers and advice on how to use them.

Alongside this, other specialised support will be available to answer questions and offer well-rounded support, such as Welfare Rights Service Stockport.

Councillor Malcolm Allan, Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources, said: “We recognise that this is an exceptionally difficult time for some residents in terms of finances. The cost of living is rising more that an at any time in recent memory and there is huge pressure from energy prices which many residents will not have had to face before. I’d urge all who are worried about their finances to attend the Money Maximising Roadshow to access help and advice from a wide range of services.”

There will also be advice around financial and food support schemes you may not previously have been aware of, such as the Pensions Credit scheme and The Pantry. Not only that, but the Roadshow event will also feature arts and craft activities for the whole family to keep your little ones entertained.

Make your way down on the 8th of June for an informative and supportive experience!
