Merseyway Car Park: Yellow and Green Zone repairs

Works to modernise and improve Merseyway Car Park continue this month, as part of the town centre’s £1billion regeneration.

The car park has been undergoing a programme of essential structural repairs and waterproofing works to prevent further wear and tear and to ensure the safety of those using the car park.

The works will continue help to protect this town centre asset and support businesses as well as providing a further boost to the town centre.

Contractors have almost completed the works in the ‘Orange Zone’, pictured, and the next stage will see the ‘Yellow and Green Zones’, close to Primark begin at the end of April.

The nature of the works means they need to be carried out during the drier months.

We are co-ordinating the works with other roadworks and events in the town centre as much as possible.

There will still be more than 1,000 spaces open at all times within Merseyway/Redrock Car Park, with other car parks available across the town centre.

The open areas of the car park will be clearly signed, including access to Blue Badge parking. A one-way system will be in operation within the car park but all vehicle entrances and exits will be open and accessible.
