Local Access Forum on look out for volunteers
Residents urged to apply to become part of forum that has say in major projects within borough
Stockport Council is looking for volunteers to join its Local Access Forum.
The Local Access Forum is a public forum run by the council and is aimed at providing opportunities for its members to be informed of and make valuable contributions to strategic access related matters within the borough.
The LAF serves as an important consultee to major strategic and development projects. It also serves as a body to make comments on land management, public rights of way, development and access policy matters.
Membership is encouraged from those with an interest in; land management, walking, horse riding, cycling, transportation, local business, greenspace, planning, tourism, disability access, community champions and minority ethnic group’s access.
Candidates with experience across all disciplines is desirable to ensure the LAF represents a broad range of areas.
Membership is voluntary and is valid for one to three years before renewal.
