Letter of Thanks to Volunteers during the Coronavirus Pandemic from the Mayor of Stockport
I am writing to you thank you all for the help and support you have provided over recent weeks to communities across Stockport.
The contribution volunteers have made to support their local communities has been extraordinary – and I wanted to let you know these efforts are recognised and appreciated.
The commitment and dedication volunteers have shown to help local people and communities is something that I, and others, will be forever grateful for.
More than 600+ volunteers have been actively involved in delivering food, picking up medicine, or checking in on people, and your efforts have proved to be invaluable.
These are truly unprecedented times, and thanks to the determination and selfless acts of local volunteers, our collective response to the coronavirus pandemic is something we as a borough can be very proud of.
I’m sure that many of you will remain active in your communities in the future but for now I thank you once again and wish you all the very best.
Councillor Dean Fitzpatrick, Mayor of Stockport
