Leader of Stockport Council appointed

Following the council meeting tonight (Thursday 19 May), we are pleased to announce that Cllr Mark Hunter (Liberal Democrats) has been appointed as the Leader of Stockport Council.

Cllr Wendy Meikle has been appointed as Deputy Leader of the Council.

The cabinet will be appointed in due course.

Names of chairs and vice chairs of the various committees will also be announced over the coming weeks.
