Keeping warm and well this Christmas with Stockport Lamplighters Rotary Club
Children from a number of primary schools across Stockport were busy before Christmas designing cards to take home to family, friends and neighbours.

The cards were the idea of Stockport Lamplighters Rotary and were printed with support from Stockport Council.
With lots of blank space so the children could create their own designs, the cards also included a QR code that the recipient could scan, taking them to information and support to keep warm and well this winter.
Councillor Malcolm Allan, Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources at Stockport Council, commented: “We know that the rising cost of living is impacting lots of our residents this winter. The Christmas card initiative was a lovely way to send festive wishes to Stockport people, but also a chance to signpost people to the support available to families who might be struggling to make ends meet.”
Linda Mullins from Stockport Lamplighters Rotary said: “All the schools we went to thought the cards were a great idea. As well as a fun activity for the children, they recognised that the cards were a novel way to reach out to people with information about keeping warm and well this winter, particularly important in the current cost of living crisis.”
As a Stockport Community Champion, Stockport Lamplighters Rotary are passionate about helping to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in Stockport.
