Residents are welcome to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II across the weekend.

Civic Service in Memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
You are welcome to attend a Civic Service in Memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which will take place at St Mary’s Parish Church (Churchgate, Stockport, SK1 1YG) on Sunday 18 September 2022 at 6.30pm. The Service will be conducted by The Right Reverend Sam Corley, Bishop of Stockport.

National Moment of Reflection
A National Moment of Reflection will take place at 8pm on Sunday 18 September to reflect on Her Majesty’s life and legacy. This will be marked by a one-minute silence which can be marked privately at home, with friends and family, out on doorsteps or the street with neighbours, or at locally arranged community events.

Screening of the funeral in Manchester city centre
Big screens in Manchester city centre will show coverage of the State Funeral from 9am on Monday 19 September to enable more people to be able to watch and be together.
Screens will be situated in:
• Cathedral Gardens
• Exchange Square
• Inside Manchester Cathedral
Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no need for tickets. There will be bag searches in operation, and access to the squares will be limited when they reach capacity. You will be able to move in and out of the big screen areas through the day. Please come prepared for any bad weather as the screens at Cathedral Gardens and Exchange Square are outdoors, without cover. For the latest travel information, visit TfGM.com

The book of condolence in Stockport Town Hall will be unavailable to sign on Monday 19 September, owing to the bank holiday arrangements. The book will be available to sign from 9am until 5pm, Tuesday 20 September.

The memorial garden at St Peter's Square in the town centre will remain in place until Tuesday 20 September at 5pm.
