The Marple Neighbourhood Forum has been developing a plan for their area over recent years.

How to find out more about the referendum for Marple’s Neighbourhood Plan

That plan has policies specific to the neighbourhood area which have been developed by local people to help guide development. The process is now at the final stage.

A referendum will be held on Thursday 21 March to decide whether the Marple Neighbourhood Plan can be used to help decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area. Residents within the neighbourhood area that are eligible to vote will have received their poll cards and postal votes in the last seven days. The last day to register to vote in this referendum is midnight on Tuesday 5 March.
