Help us to celebrate your local park during 'Love Parks Week'
'Love Parks Week' runs from July 23 to August 1
Keep Britain Tidy are calling on Stopfordians to help us love, protect and respect our parks this ‘Love Parks Week’ which takes place from July 23 to August 1.
This year, more than ever, our parks and green spaces in our borough have been a vital lifeline to so many of us during lockdown.
In May 2020, 36% of people responding to the People and Nature Survey by Natural England said they were spending more time outside during the pandemic than before. This rose to 46% in July 2020.
Around 9 in 10 people surveyed by Natural England in May 2020 agreed that natural spaces are good for mental health and wellbeing.
More than 40% noticed that nature, wildlife, and visiting local green and natural spaces have been even more important to their wellbeing since the coronavirus restrictions began.
Love Parks Week is a chance for you to celebrate your park and showcase the best of what your park has to offer, as well as educate visitors on how to respect the space when they visit.
We would love for you to share your favourite park in Stockport during #LoveParks week using the #LoveParks #RespectParks #ProtectParks hashtags.
