Councillor Wendy Wild, Stockport Council's Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said:
“It’s fantastic to see that so many events are being held in Stockport during Greater Manchester’s first ever Festival of Ageing. There are however many events and activities held all year round in Stockport which can be enjoyed by our older residents. Being connected and staying active is key in helping our older population stay healthy and well. I would therefore encourage our older residents to check out what groups and activities that are available in Stockport by visiting Stockport Local and the Stockport Events Page on the council website.”
The festival fortnight kicks off with a launch event on Monday 2nd July 12 noon - 4 pm across Manchester City Art Gallery, Central Library and Albert Square.
