Merseyway Christmas Markets – a magical Santa’s village
Discover treasure-filled stalls in the heart of Stockport at the Merseyway Christmas Markets! Running up until 24th December, these festive markets bring the magic of Santa’s Village to life. Don’t miss the perfect chance to find unique gifts and soak in the holiday cheer.

The Giving Tree – share the spirit of Christmas
Make a difference this year with the Giving Tree at Merseyway and make somebody’s Christmas. Pick a label, purchase a gift for someone in need, and drop it off at the donation box – spreading kindness has never been easier!

Meet Santa at Staircase House
On 14th and 15th December, experience Christmas magic at one of Stockport’s oldest houses! Kids can embark on a trail of festive fun, enjoy arts and crafts, and meet Santa himself in his grotto. Tickets are £15 per child, with free entry for adults.

Victorian Christmas Markets – step back in time
Transport yourself to a bygone era at the Victorian Christmas Markets up at the Market Place on 6th and 7th December. With live choirs, family-friendly fairground rides, and plenty of festive cheer, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the season.

Sleeping Beauty Pantomime at The Plaza
The Plaza welcomes Wendi Peters and a stellar cast for this year’s Sleeping Beauty production. Running from 6th December to 5th January, it’s a magical family must-see this Christmas.

Stockport Makers Market – one-of-a-kind gifts
On 14th December, the Stockport Makers Market offers the perfect chance to grab unique, handmade presents while enjoying delicious festive food. Open from 10am to 4pm, it’s a gift-giving treasure trove!

Foodie Friday – festive edition
Wrap up the year in style with Foodie Friday’s final pop-up of 2024 on 20th December, it’s going to be a good one! Enjoy festive street food, craft ales, and live music – the ultimate Christmas celebration.

Christmas Express Depot at Merseyway__
Open to young elves-in-training, each child will embark on a magical adventure across the town centre with their very own sack filled with Santa’s important mail, ready to be sorted and posted in festive post boxes across the centre. Once they’ve completed their merry task, the young helpers will be rewarded with a chance to meet Father Christmas himself, receiving a special gift ready to take home. Open across three weekends in December from 7th – 8th, 14th – 15th, and 21st – 22nd, the post office will be open for business from 11am – 2pm until all visiting slots are filled and is completely free to take part.

Lantern Making Workshop & Winter Lanternland Parade
Get creative at a lantern-making workshop on 30th November, from 10am to 1pm at What If? - An Ideas Cafe. Then, show off your glowing creation at the Winter Lanternland Parade in Viaduct Park on 19th December.
