We are inviting local businesses, charities and community organisations to take up free “5 Ways to Feel Good” resources designed to improve staff and volunteer wellbeing. The 5 Ways encourage teams to Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give to others. They are simple, proven actions that help people feel more positive, more resilient, and more engaged.

Organisations can access a range of free downloadable resources including toolkits, digital screens, internal communication templates and presentation materials, with printed resources available on request. The suite is designed to work for larger organisations (full campaign toolkits) and smaller teams (a practical toolbox of quick start ideas).

A strong wellbeing focus makes business sense: when mental health is supported at work, engagement and productivity rise. Deloitte’s analysis shows a £4.70 average return for every £1 invested in mental health.

A number of Stockport based employers are already preparing to use the resources to strengthen their workplace wellbeing offer, including The Parently Group, a major local employer operating across children’s clothing and uniform brands.

Kathryn Shuttleworth, CEO of The Parently Group, said:

“We’re really pleased to be rolling out the Five Ways to Feel Good across Parently Park. The framework fits naturally with how we already support our people’s wellbeing in practical, meaningful ways.

Through initiatives like financial health sessions, Simplyhealth membership, mental health first aiders, and the Menolounge — a supportive group for women going through life changes — we’re focused on helping colleagues feel supported both at work and beyond.

We’ve also run a range of activities around back health, movement, relaxation and healthy eating over time, and the Five Ways gives us a simple structure to build on this work and keep wellbeing part of everyday working life.”

Councillor Micheala Meikle, Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration and Skills, said:

What makes the 5 Ways to Feel Good so powerful is how accessible they are. Whether you’re a charity, a small business or a large organisation, these free tools and resources make it easy to build wellbeing into the everyday rhythm of your workplace.

We’re grateful to the Stockport organisations who are already joining us on this journey. Their enthusiasm shows that when we work together, we can make a real difference to how people feel at work, and that benefits our whole community. I encourage as many organisations as possible to take up these free resources.

Organisations can explore the free resources and get started today.
