Family support vouchers to be sent out to residents to help with cost of living

Stockport Council will be issuing family support vouchers soon to help local families with the cost of living.

Family support vouchers to be sent out to residents to help with cost of living

The scheme offers vouchers to eligible families to help with:

  • energy bills
  • other utilities such as water
  • other household essentials including hygiene products and school uniforms

This scheme is in place to help those in receipt of local council tax support/housing benefit and those in receipt of income-based free school meals with the costs of household essentials.

The vouchers should reach all residents by 1 August. If those eligible have not received their voucher by then, please visit our family support voucher webpage for more information and to use our enquiry form. Vouchers expire 28 days after being sent out, so it's important to redeem without delay.

Councillor Jilly Julian, Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources at Stockport Council, said: “The Family Support Vouchers are important in helping local families with current cost-of-living pressures. The financial support is there to help over the summer period and can be used to cover the costs of several items. The vouchers have an expiry date though – it’s crucial that people don’t miss out, and redeem the vouches as soon as they can.”
