Family Hubs app reaches 1000 downloads milestone

This highlights its growing role in supporting families across the borough every step of the way. Parents have shared how the app makes a difference, providing trusted support and information at their fingertips, whenever they need it:

“I used the app to find out what was available for my daughter as she was experiencing poor sleep, and I have used the app for suggestions on what to do. It’s been so helpful.” Parent of Year 10 child

“The app makes services much more accessible for working families.” Parent via Family Hubs survey

Family Hubs support is available in person and online. The app was launched in the summer to bring easy access right to your fingertips. Packed with expert advice, local information, and personalised support, it’s designed to meet the needs of parents-to-be, parents, and carers, with features tailored to each stage of a child’s development, including dedicated sections to support young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Download the app.

Teachers and health professionals are increasingly recognising the app as a trusted source of information, actively recommending it to the families they support:

“We have promoted the app at our year 7 transition night and had lots of parents sign up for the information around teenage issues.” Head of Year 7

“I have used the app in parent meets to get answers straight away, as well as signpost for beyond our meetings. This has helped for support in Early Help Assessments as all the information is in one place.” Head of Pastoral Care

One Stockport Family Hubs bring together early help and support provided by council, NHS and wider partners, including the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector, as one team within local neighbourhoods. Support covers all ages from pregnancy up to age 19, or 25 for young adults with SEND, and all aspects of family life, including broader issues such as cost of living, work and skills and parental mental health.

We know that families thrive when services work together and that’s exactly how Family Hubs help, by bringing trusted advice and support into one place. The Family Hubs app is a simple, inclusive tool that’s fast becoming essential for families in Stockport, making it easier for parents and carers to find what they need, when they need it most.

It’s fantastic to see the Family Hubs app reach the 1000 downloads milestone, and that many local families are using this resource to help them access the help and support that they need.

One Stockport Family Hubs support is available in person from Family Hubs sites and Family Hubs trained staff in local libraries, Life Leisure Hubs and Stockport Homes. Family Hubs are part of Stockport’s Live Well initiative, making Stockport a great place to live by building stronger communities, offering local help and support, and helping people live happier, healthier lives.

Councillor Wendy Meikle

By making early help and support more accessible, we’re making it easier for local communities to help themselves, their families, and those they care for in places close to them. This is central to our Live Well approach and supports our ambition for happy, healthy lives for everyone.
