Education and training information event to help young people with their post 16 options
Stockport Council is hosting its annual Education and Training Information Event to help young people make informed choices when they leave school or college.
On Tuesday 9 October 2018, Stockport Council is hosting its annual Education and Training Information Event to help young people make informed choices about their next steps when they leave school or college. The event will be held 4:30-8:00pm at Stockport Town Hall.
Stockport-based Further Education Colleges, School Sixth Forms, and Apprenticeship Training Providers will be attending, as well as Universities and Support Services. There will be chance to speak one-to-one with Stockport’s Education and Careers Advice Service. In addition, there will be Independent Specialist Providers and organisations offering information, advice and guidance for young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.
Councillor Dean Fitzpatrick, Cabinet Member for Education, encourages young people and their families to attend, he says: “It is not very often that we get all the different organisations in one room, all at the same time, so it is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about what post-16 options are available. This is a great chance for individuals to meet face-to-face with organisations and get as much information, advice and guidance that they can.”
No invitation needed – just come along!
