Edgeley and Cheadle Heath residents encouraged to vote in upcoming election

Residents of the Edgeley and Cheadle Heath Ward are being encouraged to take part in the local election on Thursday 24th May where they can vote for a ward councillor.

Ward councillors are responsible for making decisions on running services in your local area. These include housing, education, transport, planning, parks, leisure, public safety, social care and waste management.

Polling stations will be open from 7.00am to 10.00pm – you can find your polling station on the Council’s website. You don’t need your polling card to vote if you are on the electoral register. If you forget it, you can still vote.

Pam Smith, Stockport Council’s Returning Officer, said: “Local elections are an opportunity to make your voice heard and have a say on who represents you on issues that directly affect day-to-day life here in Stockport, so I’d encourage residents of the Edgeley and Cheadle Heath Ward to cast their vote.”
