Eat Out To Help Out scheme launched
A summer scheme introduced and funded by the Government to attract new mid-week diners and boost takings for restaurant owners in Stockport has launched on Monday, August 3.
Diners who eat-in will benefit from a 50% discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, on food and non-alcoholic drinks, any Monday to Wednesday throughout August.
More than 53,000 outlets across the UK have so far signed up to the UK government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
To find out which restaurants in Stockport are taking part, visit the new official government online finder.
As Eat Out to Help Out stickers and posters start to appear in the windows of restaurants, cafes, bars and other establishments across the country, customers who want to take advantage of the scheme are advised to look out for the logo.
The logo means diners who eat-in will benefit from a 50% discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, on food and non-alcoholic drinks, any Monday to Wednesday in August 2020 – and no voucher is required. Diners can take advantage of the offer as many times as they like during the month.
Cllr David Meller, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “Despite the new restrictions announced on Thursday, July 30, you can still take the opportunity with anyone inside your household or 'support bubble' to eat out in Stockport and get money off. By doing this, you're supporting local businesses and our local economy at this critical time.
"The 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme piggy-backs perfectly onto our One Stockport campaign, which is supporting our economic recovery and emphasising the need for people to shop and eat locally - but to do so in a safe and responsible way that considers others.
"Venues like the Produce Hall, which is included in the scheme, have gone the extra mile to make sure they're safe for visitors. If you feel able to, do take the opportunity that's available with the scheme and sample what Stockport has to offer."
To find out if a restaurant is participating in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme you can use the online restaurant finder now live on GOV.UK. Simply enter your postcode, or one near to where you want to eat out, to get a list of participating outlets within a 5-mile radius.
